Facebook Demotes The Business Content in News Feed, Would You Stop Getting Leads?
According to the official update released on 29th Jan 2018, Facebook would now lessen the number of public content such as blogs, articles, videos, and images appearing in the news feed of the users. It means the users would see less sponsored content and more posts from the genuine relatives, friends and other acquaintances. This has come as a great blow for the businesses using Facebook as a promotional platform and getting hands on the relevant sales leads.
Facebook being an omnipotent tool for your social media strategy might have given you a great sum of revenue but keeping the pace with it can now be cumbersome. Earlier, you could run Facebook ads, grab the audience and increase the lead conversion rate.
As this might not be possible now, this is the time you must bring change your plan of action and the Facebook marketing strategy! Be prepared for the reduced but useful number of leads!
- Run the Ads!
But didn’t I say that the sponsored or advertising content would not be promoted by FB much? Well, FB has not completely shut down the Facebook Ads just but just reduced its priority. So, you can still run the Carousel or video ad in its most creative and engaging form and speculate how & when it would be shown top in user’s news feed (like you have been doing all this while)
- Stop Creating Content!
Since the business or spammy content is now demoted, you must quit using this old-school practice. But without content, isn’t everything dead? Yes, but there is alternative to it- user-generated content! Share the article, podcast, video, or infographics relevant to your business niche or clients. Become a trusted source of news and information by crediting the original source! Periodically, prioritize entertaining content over informative and vice-versa! Any news or article can be informative but do not we need to let them talk? For this, map the quality of all what is being shared on all social media platforms.
By entertaining, I do not mean that you should post dance videos or animated videos but the ones which evoke, entertain, engage the user with your post. You have to keep that conversation going and let them discuss you and your offerings, and they would build you a brand.
- Emphasize Your Identity
Users avoid getting in touch with a virtual brand, company, team, and office on virtual space of FB. However, FB has become stringent while allowing spammers to stay active for long, but just in case, who wants to be cheated by the cons? Nobody! Therefore, assert the fact to FB and the millions of FB users that you own a genuine business and are honest with clients.
The more engagement FB sees on your page, the more it would recommend you to its users. Post live videos of your office, employees and working hours because the audience would relate better to you if they can identify with your work culture. It is also one way to avoid being tagged as spam because you are a whole team serving genuine clients.
- Build Relationships
As Zuckerberg says, FB would now prioritize the posts from the people with which you would like to interact with! That could be if your friends are asking for the recommendation or reading up news that matches your interest. So what you have to do with that?
Build a relationship and become friends with your customers! Interact with your customers, ask for their recommendations to improve your products, services, work process, or even share the creative and engaging content on your page. Make connections with all those users who are somehow related to your business niche and not with everyone.
Customers would like to interact with those who have mastered business skills. Ask your audience by creating polls or surveys to get the users’ feedback on every brand or business news being spread on social media.
- Revamp Your Promotional Strategy!
Earlier, we saw businesses directly telling them the users what they do, how they do, how they work and consistently striving badly about their capabilities. But now, this should be avoided as much as one can. Create meaningful interactions with the people and not only tell them what you do. They can see this all on your official website also. Your FB profile should be personalized to engage the users. They want to know behind the scenes, behind the front-end of the website, or business hoarding.
If you closely analyze your website traffic and your FB page, you would see that nearly 48% of the visitors would check your FB profile before placing an order with you. Do you know why? Because they are eager to know what else you do, how you work, how much knowledge your team has etc! So, do not disappoint this part of your traffic and focus on meaningful social interactions with the public.
With this news feed update, your business or public content, blog posts, and video posts would appear less, but that doesn’t mean your business would see a steep decrease in revenue. All you gotta do is forget about praising yourself on FB! Instead, work on all the above strategies and keep winning the customers on FB and keep the lead-conversion with a steep rise.
